Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are the third and last molars on each side of the upper and lower jaws. They are also the final teeth to erupt, usually when a person is in their late teens or early twenties.

When should a wisdom tooth be removed?

  • Wisdom teeth that aren’t fully out can trap food

  • Wisdom teeth that have partially come through can give bacteria a place to enter the gums and create a place for infection

  • Wisdom teeth that haven’t come in properly can make it difficult to floss between the wisdom teeth and the molars next to them

  • Wisdom teeth that don’t have room to come through can damage neighbouring teeth and bone
